In the middle of The Pacific Ocean is the Earth's highest mountain.
It is the volcano Mauna Kea at Hawaii, that rises steep from the bottom of the ocean to a hight of almost 10 kilometres, but only just 4,2 km above the seasurface.
In comparison the highest landbased mountain, Mount Everest, is about 8 km high.

It is hard to imagine something closer to Paradise than here…..
You are at a wonderful beach with your toes deeply dug down ind the white warm sand. Behind you the palm trees whistle in the wind and in tront of you the big blue ocean roars with white waves.
The temperature is perfectly warm …… and it is January

It is so nice that I from the bottom of my heart wish that more of my friends could experience it.
Would you like to join me next time we are traveling?
Who do not want to have the batteries re-charged - away from a cool windy January?

This time I travelled with Lianne, who is one of my best friends and business partners.

In a newspaper at the plane I read about a new trend in sociaty which is the modified hippie culture that has returned, and the new word is "Slow-food".
TIME to those things that are important. Time for the family, the friends and the interests.

Slow-food and Slow-living is the trend of our time.
Have you got TIME enough to do what is occupying you most in life?

stranden ved hotellet In the airport at the biggest island of Hawaii there was no roof at the building.... It was in fact just a group of shed roofs with palm trees and green all over. There is an official sitting at a stool under a shed roof and checking our passports.
After the check we walk over to the baggage claim which is another shed roof just beside the road. You take your luggage and walk away around the corner to the parking place.
Fantastic relaxing atmosphere here. And nicely warm.

The time difference is 11 hours and that is changing day to night. I didn't sleep very much when I was in Hawaii, only about four hours every night and a couple of hours during the day.

In the morning when I woke up (about 2-3-4am) I got up and went down to the beach or to the park of the hotel.
There was a hammock where I could lie and look at the stars and the full moon and the palm tree leaves. And listen to the sizzle in the palm trees and the waves rolling up on the beach. (Look at the pictures at the following pages)
spa Or I was lying in the warm spa-bath built up of lava rocks. Just wonderful, and the gorgeous feeling in the entire body that lasted through the day.

The reception hall of the hotel was completely open. However there were windows that could be drawn if the weather became bad. The seasons are all the same here and the temperature doesn't change much from night to day - about 28 / 84 degrees....
I could also sit in one of the armchairs at the terrace. Even though it was in the middle of the night there was a table with coffee and tea. It is nice and clean and with flowers all over the place - luxury.

One evening the Europeans at the hotel were out dining at the best restaurant at the island. Look at the pictures at the following pages.

morgenmad Breakfast at the hotel was just fantastic. A chef did an omelet exactly as you wanted it. A table was filled with fruit and cheese. Another table had five big barrels with fresh squeezed juice. In the middle of the room was a buffet with twelve covered plates. There was both warm and cold dishes which were different from morning to morning.
At exactly 7am it became light and that was normally the time where we sat at the terrace with a view to the ocean.

When I arrived at Hawaii I thought about trying to surf while I was here, but I dropped it because it showed out to be too dangerous - and I didn't expect to learn it so I could do it decently in the short time I was here.

lejet bil Instead we rented a brand new beautiful red Mustang Convertible in which we drove around at the island.

The advantage at putting the roof down is that you can hear the birds sing and feel the smells while you drive!

Hawaii's biggest island has several volcano mountain tops and that meant steep inclinations.
At one point we stopped at a restaurant which theme was old cars and Elvis Presley. There was a world map hanging on the wall with pins. We could see that there had been 6-7 Danes at the restaurant before us.

Once we drove over a deep gorge and chose to drive down to the bottom because it was so beautiful. It was so impressive with huge waves rolling in to the bay. Everything is green and moist and fertile because of the tearing river. A couple of locals were sitting in their cars and like us just watching the scenery.
Later we saw the bridge and gorge from the air when we flew over.

A lot of places there were fantastic view sites. Look at the pictures at the following pages.

The northern part of the island is 70 million years old, and because of the active volcanos the southern part is only 20 seconds old.

New lava, which is younger than 500 years, lies in a mess and is dark brown. Just beside that the lava can be very old and much lighter in the colour and a lot of plants grow there.
The eastern side of the island is very fertile and rainy, but the western side is dry and gray.

Damp fra glødende lava der rammer havetSunday we went home but in the morning we had time for a flight around the island. The Japanese pilot was very skilled and it was a pleasure to fly but a couple of times there were turbulence så I was on the edge to get air sick. I am happy that I am not an airline pilot like my brother!
We were nine passengers who had a window each and we had head phones. That cut off the noise and we could hear music and the comments of the pilot.
The music was put together in a fancy way, starting peacefully to calm down the passengers.
When we reached the red glowing lava which in big steam clouds ran down in the cooler sea water, the music was impressive and grandiose.
We saw coffee farms and snorkel bays, and it was described how long time ago the different lava currents were active. One place it was only 120 years ago the lava floated and there were already built houses - some with a wonderful view over the Pacific Ocean.

The islands' southern part is USA's most southern part, - 20 degrees north.
One place the lava had torn the road away only four years ago on it's way to the sea.
østkysten The city Hilo is the wettest city in USA with a lot of showers. The population gather drinking water in basins and they never run out of water.
In the 60's two tsunamis hit the island from east and destroyed a town in a deep gorge. At both sides there are steep cliffs that majestic rise from the sea. It looks as if a big knife has cut a slice of the island. Waterfalls spray out from high above and it all seems unreal like a Hollywood movie!
At the western side of the island, the dry part, we saw our hotel from the air. They irrigate artificially every day so therefore it is so fertile around the hotel.

We saw whales in the sea at the western part of the island. It is their season right now.

The entire flight lasted two exciting hours.

Lianne i lufthavnen And then a peculiar experience: In the evening we delivered back the car at the airport and the checked in luggage. When we were on our way through the security we found out that Lianne did not have a transparent bag with a zip for her skin lotion. We went back but could not get hold of our checked in luggage again. We were about to check in one of our hand luggage when I discovered that I in Copenhagen Airport - without thinking about it - had put a transparent bag in my handluggage.... That is what I call Flow Of Life.
In fact I experience it more and more in my life. Good events and experiences are queueing up for me. So much that I have begun educating others in that. For others to have a life at least as good as mine. That is one of the reasons that I do the workshop where you learn to make money on your hobby and leasure time interests.
For the time being it is only in Denmark I do it......

We have just passed another New Year and now it is 2007!
Do you feel that you got enough out of 2006?
I lost two of my real good friends at the same age as myself. I have known them for more than 25 years. They both got a heart attack.
It made a deep impression on me.
And it makes me even more aware about being in the NOW right now. To enjoy life to the full.
So what do YOU expect from 2007?
Which dream do you have and what is your plan for having them fulfilled?

I wonder if one of your plans would be going with us on the cruise in the Caribbean in November?
